Anxiety manifests itself in episodes commonly known as panic attacks. This is when the body's natural "fight or flight" reaction occurs spontaneously. During this internal 'emergency', stress causes the body to produce more adrenal hormones, especially adrenaline. The increased production of adrenaline causes the body to step up its metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates to quickly produce energy for the body to use. In addition, the muscles tense, and heartbeat and breathing become more rapid. Even the composition of the blood changes slightly, making it more prone to clotting. Can you see where this is going? Stress and anxiety in the body causes an extreme amount of damage if left unchecked! Your body literally feels like it's always stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Treatments for your Wellness Routine

At Laya, we practice Elemental Wellness as apart of our trademark Genees System™. The Genees System™ incorporates healing on a physical and energetic level that works to clear physical manifestations of dis-ease by bringing the whole body back into balance - one function at a time. Physical manifestation of dis-ease and/or loss of functionality directly corresponds to the 7 main energy centers of the body. We believe that the energetic imbalances happen long before any physical manifestations are present. Ancient African healers used medicinal herbs for internal and external Wellness, plus spiritual healing, movement, frequency, color therapy, Ayurvedic principles, meditation, and cultural healing mechanisms to induce deep, vibrational healing that counteracts the lack of harmony between the person and the spirit. The Genees System™ utilizes these traditions and expands on the knowledge by combining Integrative Technology, Herbal Remedies, Bathing Routines, Righteous Living, Diet Rituals and Self Development. The following treatments are helpful for those suffering from a mental illness and associated chronic conditions.

Phytacin Flush

A Laya developed version of a Niacin Flush that utilizes a natural dosage of Niacin, Infrared Sauna, Light Therapy, and the Pechoti Method in order to induce the energy of digestion and metabolism. Just as a blocked gut cannot digest nutrients properly, the connected vagus nerve cannot digest and react to information.

Shirodhara

We've combined the age old practice of third-eye oil pouring with the astronomical effects of the massage modality, Craniosacral manipulation. This treatment helps to stabilize the nervous system, stimulate production of endorphins, serotonin, and positive brain neurotransmitters, and relieve anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress, fatigue, negative emotions, and mood swings.

Cryotherapy

In addition to flushing the body of the free radicals that form during stressful episodes, our particular Cryotherapy chamber recalibrates the CNS (Central Nervous System) and ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) in an effective way to reset the internal neurological circuit board. That means it rewires your brain, so to speak.
