Spicy Rose' Heart Cordial

This recipe combines nourishing Hawthorne berries with the emotional relegating benefits of Rose, and delicious spices that help digestion.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup dried Hawthorne berries (80 g)

  • 1 chopped apple with seeds removed

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced

  • 3 cardamom pods, crushed

  • 1 vanilla bean cut in half lengthwise

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • zest of 1 lemon

  • 1 tbsp dried Hibiscus

  • 1 tbsp dried Rose petals

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened Pomegranate juice

  • 1/2 cup of honey or agave

  • 2 cups of brandy or rum

Makes 1 1/2 cups

Make it:

  1. Place all herbs, spices, and fruit in a 1 qt jar.

  2. Add the pomegranate juice and sweetener, then fill the jar the rest of the way with your choice of brandy or rum. This is approximately 2 cups.

  3. Infuse this for about 4 weeks, shaking often.

  4. Strain. This can be stored in a dark, cool place and is best consumed within 1 year.
